maximizing your floral investment
impact, impact, impact
You have a price point in mind, and you’ve submitted your wish list to your floral designer. Now you want to make sure you’re investing wisely in the right designs. The best advice when making those decisions is to a) talk to your designer and b) think about the visual impact.
It may seem counterintuitive, but you are allowed to forgo the centerpieces on every table. I promise if you invest that money into a “wow” moment—your guests will be talking about it for years to come. Focusing on a statement pieces that pack a punch is the best way to invest in your floral designs.
personal flowers
Your bridal bouquet is going to be the most photographed design at your wedding. It’s a huge investment for both you and your floral designer. It will add gorgeous color and texture to your photos and ceremony. Adding hand-dyed silk is an extra luxurious touch that is so worth it. It’s a sweet gesture to get boutonnieres and corsages for your family, but they aren’t entirely necessary.
the ceremony
The ceremony backdrop is the most photographed part of your wedding. It’s why everyone came—to watch you marry the love of your life, right? If you invest in a gorgeous arbor or ground installation, your guests are going to remember it. Ask your floral designer about what makes sense with your ceremony space, as it’s always better to work with the existing features. Aisle flowers are beautiful and can create a lush, cohesive ceremony space. Many times, they can reused at the reception such as in front of the newlyweds’ or cake table which can make them more worthwhile.
the reception
Anything that is a really small accent or will only be interacted with for a short period of time, such as bud vases and signs, are likely not a worthwhile investment. Utilizing groupings of candles on guest tables will add ambiance and will allow you to invest in those statemetnt designs. Depending on your price point, think about a few vignettes within the reception space that you want to be impactful. This could mean a sprawling installation on a fireplace mantle, lush florals surrounding the cake table (hello aisle flowers), or a garden-style urn on the bar.
bottom line
Deciding what designs to include doesn’t need to be difficult and your designer is here to help you invest wisely. We ultimately want you to get the most value out of your investment. Fewer statement pieces are more visually impactful than sprigs of greenery and bud vases everywhere.
