Seattle city wedding venue ideas
The Alexis Royal Sonesta Hotel is a charming hotel in the heart of downtown Seattle. It’s the perfect wedding venue for a couple who wants upscale urban vibes. Plus all your guests can stay right at the hotel and explore all that Seattle has to offer during your wedding weekend. I love the character the exposed brick gives the ballroom and the minimalist design provides the perfect blank canvas for your wedding day.
Color palette ideas
I think classic white and green wedding flowers would brighten up the space and provide beautiful contrast against the earthy brick and darker blue decor. This color palette will never go out of style and coordinates perfectly with the lush green landscape of Seattle and the Pacific Northwest.
Taking that up a notch, another idea is to add earth tones to the white and green palette, with hue such as toffee, caramel, and terra cotta. Some pops of sky blue would tie it all together. This would be stunning for an autumn wedding and would tie into the existing decor in a lovely way. This palette with earthy vibes also feels very fitting for a Pacific Northwest wedding.
Lastly, a palette with neutral mauves, blush, cream, and touches of burgundy would be gorgeous. The rich burgundy would play well with the navy decor while sophisticated shades of blush and mauve are timeless colors. It would also tie into the warm, earthy tones of the exposed brick that is throughout the event spaces. We love this sophisticated and romantic palette—it would also work especially well at a winery/vineyard wedding venue in the Pacific Northwest such as Woodinville.
Ceremony flowers
We love this chic ceremony design with tons of lush white flowers. It adds so much contrast against the dark interior of the room and is perfect for a city wedding. We love repurposing ceremony features at the reception whether it’s behind the newlyweds’ table or as a photo backdrop for your guests. To pair with this ceremony feature, you could line the aisle with clean, white pillar candles for a minimalist vibe or add aisle arrangements for a more lush, impactful look.

Reception flowers
Tall centerpieces exist for a reason—they add dimension and height to your reception space! You don’t necessarily need a ton of them to make an impact. They work in almost any venue but would look especially great in a chic hotel venue like the Alexis Royal Sonesta Seattle. You can add tall centerpieces on up to half of your tables if desired. On the other tables, we recommend classic garden-style compote centerpieces that are low. We love this tall centerpiece that we designed with just one beautiful flowering branch called spirea. If you’re getting married during the spring in Seattle, definitely take advantage of all the gorgeous flowering branches available and utilize them for added drama and height in your floral designs.
Styling ideas
We are all about adding candles to a tablescape, especially when they are going to make an impact. A wedding at the Alexis Royal Sonesta Hotel would definitely benefit from tons of gorgeous candles—the more, the merrier in my opinion. It would add soft, glowing candlelight for a romantic vibe in a slightly moody event space. We love a mix of taper candles for height on round tables, with votives for volume. On banquet tables, definitely go for an eclectic mix of pillars, tapers, and votives for more dimension. A neutral, textured linen will always elevate the overall aesthetic, like the one shown below.
