Tennis editorial photoshoot
This styled shoot was so much fun to dream up with Haus of Gravity at the helm for concept, planning, and design. The vendor team came together to create a beautiful scene and our talented models, Espy and Yaw brought the amazing energy. The photoshoot location was at the beautiful Greeley Park in Nashua, New Hampshire on a sunny spring day in New England.
The process with Dana from Haus of Gravity was very collaborative and we bounced around different ideas for the color palette. We finally settled on beautiful pastels for spring with a focus on peach and lavender.
We built a two-tone floral installation that ran across the tennis net that cascaded down onto the floor. We created tons of texture and color with painted asparagus fern and then added some dried floral accents for a boho touch. Finally, I finished off the installation with a scattering of muted lavender roses and some punchy peach roses.
We also created some fun tennis-themed floral pieces for the models to play around with. I created a floral design on the edge of a racket and covered a tennis ball with little white asters for a delicate touch. I also played with wearables like hyacinth hoop earrings and a kitschy visor with floral accents. Our amazing models rocked these fun additions so well and the florals were incorporated in more unique ways than just the bridal bouquet and tablescape.
The table design came together beautifully with rentals provided by Sweetly Designed Events. Gorgeous velvet linens with a boho vibe from the chargers. Kate’s Calligraphy made gorgeous pastel acrylic menus for each place setting. We added decor elements using votives, colorful taper candles, simple bud vases and lots of FRUIT (my fave part.) We even used a few grapefruit halves to showcase some stems in place of a flower frog.
Kate made tons of gorgeous hand-painted acrylic pieces to complete the invitation suite in addition to vow books (on the far right.) These gorgeous flat lays were styled by Dana to incorporate the suite, vow books, and tennis accessories adorned with florals. The visor and tennis racket were so much fun to create unique items for the shoot. The earrings in the flat lay are from OpalMilk.
I created a more petite bridal bouquet for this elopement shoot but it packed a punch with color. I mostly focused on peach tones and just added a hint of lavender flowers for contrast. I use peach anthurium, gerbera, and shimmer roses for focal flowers. I added some white Montecasino asters for texture and contrast. Lavender was added in small touches with a few stems each of larkspur and dyed fern. The bouquet was finished with trailing silk ribbon from Silk & Willow and Frou Frou Chic. Our model bride rocked this stunning 60s inspired dress with a dramatic cape which was provided by Glo Bridal.
There were so many stunning photos, it was honestly hard to choose! Here’s a small selection of shots from the day, and we still have a video forthcoming. :)
